Brussels International Ballet is happy to announce the 7th edition of the Brussels International Summer Program from 27 July 2020 to 7 August 2020 in Brussels, Belgium 

The course welcomes talented dancers aged between 14 to 24 years.

Brussels International Summer Program is a unique opportunity to work with our world famous guest teachers with one on one support in a friendly, positive atmosphere. 

Brussels International Ballet has become a well known destination for some of the most talented students from Europe, America, Japan, Latin America, Canada and Australia.

Famous classical and contemporary teachers such as: 

Irek Moukhamedov, Amanda Bennett, Irina Zavialova, Rafael Sady, Geraldine Meslier, Roberto Altamura, Luca Cesa, and many others have taught at previous Summer Intensive Programs. You will also have the chance to audition for the year round  Professional Training Program.

Groups

Boys: from age 15

Girls: age 14-17 / 18-24

The classical ballet classes will be held separately for boys and girls.

 

Intermediate and Advanced

 

This program will provide students the opportunity to understand and improve their skills and gain strength. It is designed to give them a deeper understanding of Classical Ballet and contemporary dance.

 

Pre- and Professional

Students have the opportunity to improve their skills,  and explore the demands of a professional career. They will have greater strength, precision, confidence and will empower their passion for the art of Ballet.

 

In our studios the students will take part in a professional and intensive training program with prestigious international dancers, teachers and choreographers from Mariinsky, Bolshoi, Royal Ballet Covent Garden and others with styles of classical and modern, such as Jiří Kylián, Forsythe, McGregor and more, offering a unique experience to share knowledge, inspiration and passion of a great artistic team.

 

Classes

 

Classical Technique; Pointes; Female Variations; Male Variations; Pas de Deux; Barre à terre; Pilates and others. Contemporary Technique; Repertoires with different techniques such as Jiří Kylián, Mats Ek, Forsythe etc.

 

Performance

A professional performance will be held at the end of the 2 weeks intensive course, on the Friday afternoon.

How to apply

Attention

Only registrations forms duly filled, signed and sent with all the mandatory requested photos will be revised. Any uncompleted form will be rejected. Please do not forget to upload your ID photo as well onto the application form.

For registration to the International intensive Summer Program, please fill in and upload the registration form along with the required photos.

Dress code for the pictures:

Girls - Any colour leotard, salmon tights and shoes, no skirts, no warm-ups.

Boys - t-shirt (black or white); tights (black or white); ballet shoes (black or white), no warm-ups.  Photos with “barefoot” will be rejected.

The choice of the admitted applicants is up to the sole discretion of the Ballet School. The reasons for not being admitted to the Summer Program 2019 will not be announced.

 

Candidates over 16 years can also send a link or a video of a classical solo variation as alternative. 

Once we receive your materials, we will assess your application and the results will be sent by email.

 

For the students wishing to enrol for the full year round program 2020/2021, they will be able to audition at the very end of the Summer Program.

Housing

Brussels international Ballet School offers a boarding school option, located 300 meters from the school.

  • Arrivals: Students must arrive on Sunday 26 July 2020 from 12:00 and not later than 21:00, dorm will be closed at 21:00! Dorm will be open ONLY from 12:00!

  • Departure: all student must leave the dorm Saturday 08 August 2020 at latest 11:00. Please plan departure flights accordingly. Dorm's doors will be closed at 11:00.

Dorm option:  This package includes overnight stays, breakfasts, lunches & dinners from Monday 27 July to Saturday 08 August (on Saturday 08 August only breakfast). 

Housing for parents:

Parents are not allowed to stay at the dormitory.

2. Complete the form in Adobe Reader, then save it (save as) with the following format: First name_Last name_SP2020. Please upload your ID photo as well onto the form!

3. Upload the form along with the required photos.
