Kazuko Sumimoto started Ballet at the Tokiwa Ballet School. She learned very young the Vaganova method. She continued her training at Tani Ballet School with famous teachers, former Soloists and Principals of renowned companies in Japan and Europe.
From 1984 to 1996, she worked as a professional dancer with the Tani Ballet Company in Tokyo and danced in various classical production such as Don Quichotte, Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Giselle, The Sylphides.. She worked with the Japan Ballet association and also participated as guest dancer to the Japan Ballet Festival. In 2005, she arrived in Belgium and started teaching at the Mandorla Ballet School where she first met Anderson Santana. When he changed location and created Brussels International Ballet School in 2011, Kazuko followed him and became more involved in the school.
In 2013, Anderson Santana appoints her Vice-Director. She is one of the motivated teachers of BIBS artistic team, coaches regularly many students for ballet competitions and is currently the main rehearsal mistress of the Professional Training Program.
