Yamit KALEF

Yamit was born in 1973 in Israel. At a young age danced at The Elana Kalef School of Dance (her mother) in Israel. In 1988 moved to Canada and studied at The National Ballet School of Canada in Toronto. She graduated in 1991 and received a grant from the Canada Council of Art to study in Europe. In 1992 she joined the Grand theater of Genève where she worked with choreographers such as Ohad Nahrin, Jiri Kylian, Christopher Bruce and Mats Ek. In 1995 she joined the Cullberg Ballet. Her roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Ruby and Silver Fairies in Sleeping Beauty and Odette/Odile in Swan Lake. Since 2005 till now she has been teaching ballet and repertoire to students in different dance schools. She gives classes at the Kibbuts Dance Company.
